Du – Project Silk

For du’s Project Silk campaign, I once again partnered with TBWA and B.K.P. Group to create a series of commercial photography key visuals combining studio photography with advanced digital compositing. Produced entirely in a controlled studio environment, the campaign focused on portraying a futuristic vision of connectivity while keeping people at the centre of the story.

The creative concept relied on carefully planned composite photography. Before the shoot, the agency developed the CGI environments and visual layouts that defined each final composition. Every photograph had to match the pre-designed scenes with complete accuracy, from camera height and lens perspective to lighting direction and subject positioning. This allowed the photography and digital artwork to blend together naturally during post-production.

Rather than photographing complete environments, the production focused on capturing authentic expressions and natural body language that would later become part of large-scale digital worlds. Working closely with the creative and VFX teams, every frame was photographed with the final composite already in mind, ensuring seamless integration between the human subject and the digitally created environment.

The final advertising photography campaign showcases how traditional studio photography and digital production can work together to create striking visual storytelling. Combining AI-assisted compositing, portrait photography and advanced retouching, the imagery was produced for digital advertising, social media and large-format campaign rollout across multiple platforms.
